Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman is a gold-medal-winning Olympic gymnast who steered her U.S. team to victories in 2012 and 2016. She has won six Olympic medals all over the world, and was a member of two gold-medal-winning World Championships teams. Aly is from Needham in Massachusetts. She has a passion to gymnastics can be traced to her 18-month old "mommy with me" class. Aly has always been an ardent advocate of body positive and is an advocate and a leader on the floor. She recently spoke out about Larry Nassar's sentencing. Aly Raisman, born in 1994, began her gymnastics career as an infant and helped to lead the U.S. team to win the 2011 World Championships. The year 2012 saw Raisman win two gold medals at the London Olympics One for the team event, and another in individual floor exercise - in addition to a bronze on the beam. Raisman was back at the Olympics for the second time in Rio in the year 2016, securing two silvers, one for each of the all-around floor and all-around exercises, and one in the gymnastics teams for women. In the year 2017, Raisman revealed she had suffered sexual assault at the from the former team physician Larry Nassar, and the next year, she filed a lawsuit against USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
